For press brake operators, visual guidance can be more useful than written instructions, especially on complex parts with multiple bends. Version 18 of CI Form, an update released roughly six months ago, brought that same visualization to a screen at the press brake, so the operator doesn’t have to walk back to a desk computer and reference the model.

Edwin Diaz, software manager at Cincinnati, says this kind of visual feedback has become increasingly important as retiring workers are replaced with young employees that havelittle experience but are accustomed to working with computers and rely on simulations intheir training.

“They don’t want to read a 20-page PDF,” Diaz says. “They want to watch a 1-min. video.”
