CINCINNATI Incorporated laser cutting systems to star on “World’s Greatest!…” in November
25 years of making innovative laser cutting systems earns company a spot on cable program highlighting the world’s greatest companies, products, place and people.
OCTOBER 31, 2012 – CINCINNATI Incorporated has been selected to appear in an upcoming episode of the “World’s Greatest!...” television program that will feature the company’s laser cutting technology. Show producers cited the innovation and longevity of the company’s laser cutting systems as traits that warrant the “World’s Greatest” distinction. “CINCINNATI Incorporated was one of the first machine tool companies in the world to develop a sheet metal laser cutting system, and the company has introduced many technical advancements that are now standard in the industry,” said Gordon Freeman, executive producer of the program. “The company understands that laser cutting systems are the solution to many manufacturing challenges of today and the future.” Filming for the program took place at the company’s Harrison, OH plant in late July, and the episode will air on the ION Television network November 5 at 6:00 a.m. Additional airings will run on ION cable and satellite November 12 at 10:00 a.m. and November 16 at 7:00 a.m. All times are Eastern.
CINCINNATI Incorporated is one of the last build-to-order, U.S. machine tool makers, and the company has shipped more than 60,000 machines in its 113 years of operation. The company was the first to use linear motor drives to increase the speed of laser cutting systems, overcoming the speed limitations and mechanics of ballscrew and rack-and-pinion drives. The company still produces its own linear motors, unique in the industry. The third generation linear motor drives, as well as a powerful laser resonator, advanced cutting head and innovative optics, allow the CL-800 laser cutting system to make quick work of thick and thin material.
The company recently introduced its CL-900 series fiber laser cutting system, combining the low operating cost of fiber optic laser technology with a 12,000 ipm linear-motor axis drive to create the most productive, economical and easy-to-use system for sheet metal processing.“The CL-800 and CL-900 laser cutting systems are truly dazzling 21st century manufacturing tools that we think our viewers will find very interesting,” said Freeman.
CINCINNATI Incorporated makes built-to-last machines, and has high resale value for its used machines. A current customer reports that a vintage 1954 press brake, a shear built in 1974 and one of the first commercial laser cutting systems from 1987, a CL-7, are still operating in its shop today.
“World’s Greatest!...” is a thirty-minute program dedicated to highlighting the world’s greatest companies, products, places and people.
