Dynamic Thickness Compensation, a standard feature on AUTOFORM and MAXFORM and improves angular consistency by measuring and automatically compensating for material thickness variations during a production run.
Adaptive Forming, an optional feature, provides the ability to compensate for both material thickness and strength variations. Both features improve productivity by allowing an operator to run production without frequent machine adjustments.
Dynamic Thickness Compensation and Adaptive Forming use standard air bend tooling without requiring additional probes or sensors. The encoders and housing mounted strain gages measure tonnage and ram position during the stroke. This allows the control to calculate material thickness and strength and automatically adjust the ram reversal position. |
